Built above the river
The Riverfront Suite is built differently from every other room at The Namkhan. Elevated on stilts above the riverbank, the suite extends out over the water, the sound of the Nam Khan is directly beneath, and the views from the private garden encompass the full 180-degree river panorama that characterizes this stretch of the river in Luang Prabang.
The 200m² private garden is the largest private outdoor space of any room category. It is a complete outdoor living environment: a furnished Bali Bed for daytime river watching, a fire pit for evenings, seating, and direct access down to the river below.

At 81m², the interior is the largest of the suite categories. The room is designed to keep the view central: the king bed is positioned toward the river, and the floor plan allows for a comfortable separation of sleeping and living areas.
The interior features the same quality of craft as the rest of the property, handcrafted furnishings, curated Lao artwork, natural materials, but the scale and orientation toward the river give it a distinct feeling.

What does "on stilts above the river" mean exactly?
The suite is built on a raised structure that extends over the Nam Khan riverbank, placing the room physically above the water rather than beside it. Guests can hear the river directly below. The 200m² private garden connects to the river at ground level.
Is the Riverfront Suite the same as the Riverview Suite?
No. The Riverview Suite (64m²) is a traditional room structure with a large terrace and panoramic views of the river confluence. The Riverfront Suite (81m²) is built on stilts directly above the river with a 200m² private garden.
What is the Bali Bed?
The Bali Bed is an outdoor day bed, a canopied, cushioned lounger positioned on the private garden for river viewing, resting, or daytime relaxation. It is a feature of the private garden only accessible to guests of this suite.
How many guests can the Riverfront Suite accommodate?

Is the fire pit safe to use independently?
Yes. Hotel staff will advise on fire pit use at check-in. Guests can use it independently during the evening; the team is available if assistance is needed.
